By their very nature, seaside residential areas are expected to offer opportunities for swimming and summer fun. Merirahu is wirhin walking distance of Kakumäe, one of the three beach areas in Tallinn.

Development plans envisage the addition of a small port on the Merirahu shoreline. Studies have confirmed the spot as suitable for a port, and some of the required infrastructure has already been completed. The necessary project documentation is currently underway.
